How to choose a lender in South Africa

When comparing lenders, don't look only at the headline interest rate. The total cost of credit includes initiation fees, monthly service fees, credit life insurance and any other charges. Under the NCA, lenders must disclose the total cost as a Rand amount before you sign.

Always verify that a lender is registered with the National Credit Regulator (NCR). You can check registration at nca.org.za. Unregistered lenders are illegal and should be avoided.

Finance EzyFind only works with NCR-registered credit providers. All rates shown are indicative — your actual rate will depend on your credit profile and the lender's assessment.
